Frequently asked questions
Wedding florist in Northumberland, Newcastle and South West Scotland
Booking your wedding florist
Question: How far in advance would you recommend we book our wedding florist?
Answer: Wedding florists get booked up quick. I would recommend you start to research your style and find a florist that aligns sooner rather than later. I personally open my books for the following year around 18-months before. So in the middle of 2025, I will open my diary for 2027. The majority of my bookings come in around 15-12 months before.
Question: What process should we expect if we enquire with Bonnie Blooms?
Answer: When you reach out through our website, we’ll respond with available times for a quick phone or video call to discuss your floral ideas, get to know each other, and learn more about your wedding plans. This helps us create an inspiration board and price guide. Once you’re happy with the inspiration board, you can secure your date with a booking fee.
About 6 months before your wedding, we’ll schedule an in-depth meeting or venue visit, create a detailed mood board, and mock-ups to help you visualise your florals. We’ll also provide a detailed quote and payment schedule.
A final check-in before the big day will confirm the details, including delivery and setup. On the day itself, we’ll take care of everything, so you can relax and enjoy knowing your florals are in good hands!
Flower choices, design and styling
Question: I don’t know much about flowers, does that matter?
Answer: In short, no. It’s our job to advise you on what we think will work for your vision and budget. As part of your consultation we’ll cover this and find out what you like and don’t like (even if you don’t know the names of the actual flowers themselves!)
Question: We have a Pinterest board, can we share this in our consultation?
Answer: Yes ofcourse. We can use this to collaborate once you’ve booked too! It’s a great platform to be able to share ideas and build a picture of the day as a whole.
Question: Do you offer things like vases as part of the price?
Answer: We have an inventory of different vessels we can use. When we price for arrangements where we have vessels in our stock, the price is inclusive of the vessel use too. If you would like some specifics that we don’t stock, we can arrange to have these delivered to us prior to the wedding. We would need to discuss and consult on these prior to you ordering to ensure they are workable and we don’t work with items supplied by other suppliers for insurance purposes.
Pricing and payment
Question: How far in advance of our wedding is payment due?
Answer: Our terms and conditions (from January 2025) state the final balance is due 6-weeks before.
Question: Do you have a minimum spend?
Answer: Yes we do. Our minimum spend is £1,000 (from January 2025). Discretion may apply in some cases.
Question: Do you offer payment schedules?
Answer: Yes we can offer payment schedules with our minimum payment terms being met (full balance due no later than 6-weeks before).
Wedding flowers after the wedding
Question: Do you preserve bridal bouquets?
Answer: Watch this space…
Question: What happens with flowers after the wedding day?
Answer: There’s various options. Arrangements that are made in a water source like moss can be gifted to guests and family to take away after the event. Flowers used in vases, bud vases or bowls, we can discuss a ‘wrap and go’ service the day after the wedding. This is where we will come to the venue the morning after the wedding and repurpose suitable flowers in to small flower wraps for gifting.
